About Autism Initiatives Group

Autism Initiatives Group is a national charity operating in the UK and Ireland.  We provide services for autistic children and adults of all ages and complexities.

Our range of specialist autism services are person-led. No two people with autism are the same and neither are any of our personal plans.

At Autism Initiatives Group, we work with each individual and their family to understand what they need, how they work best and how we can support each person to achieve their own goals.

By taking part in Cycle for Autism, you will help us move closer to our vision that every autistic person receives the support they need to learn and develop every single day.

Autism Initiatives Group was founded 50 years ago in 1972 by Pat Minshull who couldn't find the right support for her autistic son Peter. Pat fundraised tirelessly and with the help of local MP Harold Wilson she opened a school for autistic children. 50 years on and we have grown from a local charity in Liverpool, where we still have our head office, to a national charity providing specialist autism services in the UK and Ireland. We are proud to continue Pat's legacy as a brilliant fundraiser with Cycle for Autism.

Autism Initiatives still support Peter and he lives locally in his own home.
